The list of taught courses are as follows:

CSE 5208: Introduction to Computer Engineering Design

This course requires students to utilize a formal design process to complete an engineering design project that begins with a client problem statement and ends with the delivery of a written design report, a formal design presentation and a working prototype or system demonstration. This course involves the synthesis and design of electrical engineering or computer engineering components and systems. Students work in groups as a design team on selected projects. Oral and written presentations are made by students during the term with a formal oral presentation and final written report at the end of the course. Evaluations of oral and written presentations are made by supervisors as well as other students. Lecture material covers design processes and methodologies as well as design aspects related to safety and the environment.

CSE 5210: Digital System Design

This course covers FPGA architecture, design rules, timing, latency, optimizations, state machines, implementing arithmetic, counters, memory, error detection and correction, simulation, I/O device, microcontroller. We use Verilog HDL for the assignments.

CSE 5408: Sustainable Engineering Design

This course enriches students’ learning experience by implementing engineering design projects on ongoing real-world problems. The main topics are System architectural design and evaluation; concurrent hardware and software design; system integration, testing and validation; maintainability; sustainability; safety and fault tolerance; project documentation. The course also examines issues of sustainability, energy, pollution, ethics, accessibility and effects of products on various stakeholders, analysis of designs and failure modes, as well as technical report writing and presentations.
